April is one of my very favorite months, largely due to the rain showers it bestows upon us. Rainy days are full of romance, perfect for cozying up to a good book, a cup of tea, that favorite black and white classic film, and that special someone! And what is better than a rainy night for a cocktail and a candlelit dinner? Husband and I were married in April, so as I count down the days until our anniversary I spend the whole month thinking of weddings (which you might notice right here on the blog in the coming weeks!), fussing over every little detail of our celebration, and baking a smaller scale replica of our wedding cake. Of course, who can forget that this month will also treat us to the rare pleasure of a royal wedding! I for one am unapologetically giddy about it, anyone else? I hope you are all able to embrace and fully enjoy the coming weeks. May the rains wash away the winter dirt from our surroundings and our spirits, and leave us fresh and ready for May flowers!

Now that it is officially spring (yay!) I don’t have to stop myself from gushing about and lusting after all things nautical and summery! The Spring 2011 collection from Blanco is hitting all of my polka dot, stripe, and nautical loving soft spots. The whole collection gives off such a “ oh, I just threw this together and yet look incredibly chic ” vibe, which is exactly the kind of casual glamour I want when the weather warms up. I would be more than happy to spend the entire season in these gorgeous outfits, I’m not sure I could even pick a favorite, can you?

Another lovely shot of Julianne Moore for Talbots Spring 2011. Don’t you wish it was time for days spent in pretty yellow skirts (instead of freezing in a big sweater while today’s rain makes a big slushy mess out of yesterday’s snow)? I know I do, especially if those days involve twirling about in a warm spring garden.

Even though absolutely everything is covered in snow as we speak, the sun is shining and apparently that darling little groundhog didn’t see his evil shadow yesterday which should mean spring is near! Suddenly I want to surround myself with fresh green ferns and sweet pink roses and just close my eyes and enjoy the bright sunlight. Especially after taking a peek at the gorgeous Spring 2011 Talbots campaign featuring Julianne Moore. Don’t those fantastic colors just instantly lift your mood?
