I’ve had this page from an old J.Crew catalog in my inspiration folder for some time now, and each time I look at it I instantly get nostalgic for my graduate school days. I saved it because the stacks behind the model look nearly identical to the rows of reference books I spent hours surrounded by, and the presence of wool trousers and argyle is incredibly accurate. The only thing that breaks the spell is her oddly cheerful, well rested disposition, she doesn’t look at all like a girl who recently burst into tears after an advisor meeting or like someone who is being held up by four cups of coffee and a candy bar. Mostly I love this tear sheet because it reminds me that you can take a girl out of the grad library but you’ll never get her out of wool and argyle (at least not this girl) !

J.Crew is making my dreams of a tartan Christmas come true! But, while I am grateful and thrilled, they really must stop rolling out new plaid items, I can’t keep myself from buying them. A girl can never really have too many plaid shirts though, right? And as usual I die for the lipstick shade. Don’t you wish they sold all the makeup the models use right on the website? I wonder if we can get someone to make that happen.

The holiday season has officially begun, J. Crew‘s December catalog and very merry gift guide has arrived! As usual, I want one of everything featured. These four looks caught my eye for their loveliness, and their contrast. What will you be wearing this holiday season friends, bold pops of red or pale sparkles?

It is a bit early for me, I usually wait until Santa shows up in the Macy’s parade to get excited about Christmas, but I’ve seen no less than four holiday commercials just this morning, Martha Stewart was talking about holiday wreaths today, and my parents just accepted our invitation to spend Christmas at our house this year, so it can’t be helped, I am officially in the holiday mood! Since Christmas in Scotland is on my dream list, I’ve had the images from this Hugh Stewart J.Crew holiday shoot saved forever, and I thought it would be fun to take a look at them today. It is one of my absolute favorites, so much eye candy for my tartan loving heart! Perhaps I can get a few of you in the holiday mood too so I don’t feel like too much of an early bird.
Do you usually get in the spirit early, or do you wait until after Thanksgiving? Is anyone planning and decorating already?

Remember my hopes and dreams of adding more tulle into my daily life? Well, it turns out J.Crew is reading my mind (really, how do they do this?) because what should I see in my newly arrived catalog but a tulle bikini! And not just a tulle bikini an entire luxe tulle collection including, be still my heart, a tulle ruffle skirt! That thud? Me falling over. J.Crew, I love you.
