If I had to pick a set of images to represent my mood right now it would be these ethereal photos. Aren’t they an absolute dream? This is my spring fantasy: soft, dreamy, and unabashedly flower-filled. I don’t think I will be attempting a full flower crown any time soon (though it is fabulous, isn’t it?) but perhaps a little bloom tucked behind my ear will be just the thing to indulge my nature-girl moment.

The only thing I can really think about come May is flowers! I want to surround myself with blooms of every shape and color. I can’t wait until every tree is lush with bright green leaves. I take walks with no destination just to see what new flower has popped up in neighbors yards. And I put my hands in my pockets to keep them from naughtily plucking a few as I go along! I simply can’t get enough.
The overwhelming abundance of color this month is truly nature’s way of making up for hard winters, and we could certainly use the reward this season. Especially after the destructive weather of the past few weeks it is nice to be reminded that nature can be gentle and beautiful. Sort of like life in that way, there will always be freezing winters and terrifying winds, but however fleeting, there will also always be moments of pure beauty. Have a gorgeous month everyone!

Three of my favorite things, peonies, lavender, and a stack of books. I’ve never been able to find red peonies (I really need to find a proper flower market soon), but wouldn’t they make the perfect decor at this time of year? I would prefer big bunches of red peonies over poinsettia any day! Does anyone else crave fresh flowers in the winter? I’m always wanting what I can’t have and planning on having fresh blooms in every room at precisely the time when that is least likely.

I’m loving this image from Vogue Living (by the amazing Petrina Tinslay) today. Pink and orange is the perfect color combination for late September, a little autumn with a little summer still hanging around. Lovely, no?

A bunch of perfect, cheery little ranunculus on your desk. Ranunculus are one of my very favorite flowers, aren’t they lovely? They almost look like tiny little peonies. For once I made sure to get a bunch with lots of closed little buds so I’m hoping as the week goes on there will be more and more happy little blooms to look at!
