It seems that every year I develop a new coat obsession. I’m a bit of a coat hoarder actually, I believe you can’t have too many. Two winters ago it was the perfect red peacoat (check), last year it was a ladylike white coat (check), and this year I’m obsessed with finding the perfect, preferably bright yellow, toggle coat.
There is something so nostalgic and collegiate about a toggle coat, I simply can’t resist them. You might remember me posting this gorgeous photo almost a year ago? I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Here’s hoping this coat mission will be accomplished before the snow starts falling in earnest. What could be more lovely than a bright spot of sunshiny yellow on a freezing snowy day?

So in love with this gorgeous girl’s brocade coat, photographed on the streets of Paris. The pink and gold combination is so lovely, she is just the picture of femininity, especially with that fantastic bow belt! Wouldn’t this make an amazing dress coat for holiday parties? I am thinking it would be perfect worn to the ballet, it is Nutcracker season after all. Do you have any theatre plans this season?

Today is a very sleepy day (the second helping of turkey and sides we had for lunch did not help at all), but there is still a buzz in the air as the holiday season officially begins! Holiday decor seems to have sprung up overnight at my in-laws home, almost as if little elves were hard at work all night long (no one will fess up to it, but I suspect it was my crafty sister-in-law), and we’ve already broken into the Christmas movies box. What are you up to this weekend dear friends? Was anyone brave enough to shop the Black Friday sales?
P.S. One of these years I must get to work and make this light bulb wreath, wouldn’t you love to be greeted by its bright colors on your way home during the holidays?
