Hand in Hand

Hand in Hand Sustainable Suds are about to become my favorite bar of soap. These gorgeously packaged orange blossom bars are vegan, cruelty free, and eco-friendly, but the past part? For each bar sold a bar is donated to someone in need. (Can you imagine not having access to a basic necessity like soap? I honestly can’t even think about it without getting a stomachache, and not just because I’m such a germaphobe.) So stock up! The way they are presented in the photos would make such a sweet gift, who wouldn’t love a crate of sunny oranges and pretty bath soap? And a gift that gives back will warm their heart twice over, guaranteed!

Summer’s Last Hurrah

As much as I am excitedly counting down to fall (which in my world starts promptly on September 1st even if the weather doesn’t yet cooperate), I am making sure to soak in these last bits of summer. The next few days will be filled with all of my favorite summer treats, from bocce to sangria to the last Clambake manicure! I hope you are all making the most of these fun summer days as they slowly trail away.

1. Bocce Set, 2. Lobster Plate, 3. White Sangria in a fab Hourglass Dispenser, 4. Essie Clambake, 5. S’more Maker, 6. Beach Bonfire Blanket, 7. Roberts Revival Portable Radio, 8. Lobster and Clam Steamer Set hopefully used to enjoy some Maine Lobsters!

Alpine Beauty

Susanne Kaufmann and her amazing organic bath oils have me longing for cold days spent in a hot bath. Crafted in a small workshop in the Bregenz Forest from organic ingredients grown and gathered in the Alps, these bath oils are sure to make your skin happy.  And the pretty, herb filled bottles will look fantastic in your bathroom (let’s admit it, we do care how things look in the bath as much as how well they work). What more can one ask for?

A Thousand Words

There is nothing quite as restorative to a tired mind as the sensory deprivation of a quiet, all white room. It feels like the whole world could use some time in one of these at the moment, myself definitely included.

Chronic Bitchface

This was one of those things you run across that both instantly makes your day and causes you to laugh so hard you not only snort but continue to laugh so long it deteriorates into that wheezy, shaking, silent laugh where tears are streaming down your face and you start to believe you’ll honestly never stop laughing again. First off, I LOVE that feeling, don’t you?

And secondly, “chronic bitchface” ? I so have that. And mine looks exactly like the chick on the right, down to the bun and glasses, although my bun is brunette.  My mom has it too (whose bun is blond), and even though we know this about one another we still sometimes ask each other “what’s wrong?” or “are you ok?” when the bitchface is happening. Krisatomic is my hero for making this, I am definitely buying both my mom and myself  a Chronic Bitchface print to frame! If you don’t have need of this print, check out the rest of her work, one is truly better than the next, I wish I could have every single one.

By the way, note to strangers: if you encounter someone with the bitchface and you want them to smile, say nothing and simply smile at them. 99% of the time they will smile back and feel good, your mission therefore accomplished. Because telling sufferers to “smile” or “cheer up” will just cause their mood to start matching the face. Seriously.
