Another month, another excited trip to the bookstore! Feeling a bit cerebral and contemplative this month…
Imagine by Jonah Lehrer – a trip into the inner workings of the creative mind. I’m hoping in addition to satisfying my never ending thirst for more information about the brain, it might just help with those days when coming up with an idea is like getting blood from a stone. (we’ve all been there, yes?)
The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker – the earth’s rotation slows down making days and nights longer and wreaking as much havoc with the world as you might expect. Told from the point of view of 11-year-old Julia who is trying to navigate adolescence and the looming end of the world. I have a feeling this will be a suspenseful, super fast read.
The Mansion of Happiness by Jill Lepore – a fascinating exploration of how modern marvels and inventions have prolonged our lives and changed our relationship with life and death. Insight into the questions we all ask about humanity and modern life, the good and the bad.
Glasses – Jodie by Kate Spade
