The only way to truly reach the level of holiday decor that I would prefer is to have a little cabin dedicated just to Christmastime. I want everything to be woodsy and warm and if at all possible entirely draped in red, green, and tartan. That just isn’t feasible for the rest of the year (I don’t think I could convince the husband to have holiday only furniture, although maybe I’ll float the idea just to see how far his eyes pop out of his head), not to mention the fact that the day after Christmas I want to take everything down and bury the whole house in seven layers of glitter in preparation for New Year’s Eve.
That is why this little cabin, the family gathering spot of Amanda Brooks in the Adirondacks, has been in my fantasy photo folder forever. Isn’t it a total dream? Someday I will find a little place like this to rent for a few weeks and bring the whole family to my little Christmas oasis. What a holiday that will be! And just think, once the holidays are over we would just go home, no clean up necessary. Perfect.

This cabin is so cozy! I’m with you, it would be so nice to have a cabin dedicated to this holiday.
Is this Santa’s house? (I bet it is =)
Hahahahaha, those napkins are funny.
