Equestrienne Daydream

Every fall I daydream about horseback riding lessons. There is something so magical and appealing about the thought of bundling up in boots and a sweater and riding on a chilly day with fallen leaves crunching underfoot, the smell of distant fireplaces burning in the air. And I have a theory that leaf peeping would be infinitely more enjoyable on horseback than in a car. One of these days I really need to follow through and book a lesson (I’ve never ridden a horse and I have to admit I’m a bit nervous!), but until then I can continue to daydream and perhaps incorporate some of these equestrian pieces into my life to tide me over. I mean let’s be honest, the accessories are at least half the fun, one almost wouldn’t miss the horse when walking about town in that fantastic Smythe hunting jacket.

As a real equestrian (been riding more than 20 years now!), I have to admit I *hate* the whole equestrian fashion trend. (Most real girls coming from the barn are covered in sweat and horse slobber!) -LR

LR – If that is true I might have to stick to the accessories and forget the riding lesson =) Sweat I’m okay with but I’m not sure about slobber….
