I wouldn’t really describe myself as lazy, but I think the label “can’t be bothered” would fit quite well, especially when it comes to my beauty routine. As much as I love trying new things (and I really am as swayed by products with a bright “new!” label as the next girl) I always return to a handful of rock star products that always work. And of course, they are simple and multipurpose, because honestly, I can’t be bothered.
LipFusion Conditioning Stick in Clear – chapped lips are not cute, and I haven’t had to worry about them since I received this as a gift from my mom. Love at first swipe. It is also advertised as “plumping” but I honestly can’t say whether it does or not, however if you are in the market for a plumping product give this a go, because unlike most on the market it doesn’t sting/burn. Also a fabulous primer for lipstick, I swear it lasts longer with this underneath, just give it a minute, blot, add color, go.
Boiron Calendula Gel – this clear gel will soothe a cut, cool a burn, take the itch/irritation out of a bug bite, shrink a pimple, heal chapped dry skin…… darn near anything skin related will be helped by this little hero. All without a hint of stickiness or goopyness (which means you can easily use it under makeup on those pesky pimples). LOVE.
DDF Sulfur Therapeutic Mask – the scent will make you want to wash it off rightthatsecond, but hang in there until it dries and you will be rewarded with gorgeous, clear, poreless skin. And don’t worry the scent (thankfully) doesn’t linger after you rinse. If you use it in the morning on the day of a big event it will help your skin stay matte the whole day.
Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads – swipe, wait three minutes, rinse, love your skin. My skin doesn’t handle scrubs very well, but it still needs exfoliation so for me chemical exfoliants are the way to go. These pads work like a charm and don’t make my skin angry. Whether you have dullness, flakiness, large pores, oiliness, acne, dark spots, wrinkles, or all of the above these are for you. Also a wonderful way to deal with the pesky bumps of Keratosis Pilaris, if using on arms or legs you don’t need to rinse, just leave on overnight.
John Masters Organics Blood Orange and Vanilla Body Wash – yup it’s body wash, and I also use it on my face (hey, my face is on my body). As with most great things this was an accidental discovery, I was in the shower, ran out of facial cleanser and couldn’t be bothered to get a new bottle so I used this. My skin has never been happier, calmer, or clearer. It smells divine, and is ultra gentle, I even use it to take off eye makeup without stinging.
And now tell me, what products can you absolutely not live without?
