Colorful French Lockets

I’m so in love with these gorgeous enamel lockets by Beklina! Wouldn’t it be an absolute treat to keep your loved ones near your heart in one of these? And I will admit, the fact that they are made in Paris makes them even more desirable. Of course I’d like one of each but if I had to choose I think that layer of brass, white, and pink would make me very happy indeed. I guess that’s three, oops. You see, I am totally incapable of  choosing  just one!

Total Agreement

Welcome Matte

It is truly a challenge to look fresh faced when you are almost literally melting in the heat and humidity. As a lifelong oily skinned girl I am never without blotting papers, but in this type of weather we could all use a little help looking cool and put together even if we feel like anything but. I’ve tried almost every paper on the market (even plain gift wrapping tissue paper which does work quite well in a pinch!) and these five have made their way to the top of my favorites list.

Sonia Kashuk Blotting Papers – My favorite by far! They are affordable, comparatively quite large, and very absorbent. You will never have oil seep through the back onto your fingertips (so not chic).

Tatcha Aburatorigami Blotting Papers – The gold flakes in these Japanese papers make blotting feel like a special treat!

Bobbi Brown Blotting Papers and Compact – Touch-ups on the go are a breeze with this chic compact, no fumbling about with a separate mirror and sheet container. And if you find yourself needing to blot in public you can hide behind the mirror a bit.

Papier Poudre Powdered Paper – For those who like a bit of powder these old-fashioned (first made in 1903!) papers are perfect, and who can resist that charming little book and cover. Choose from Rachel for fair skin, Rose for medium, and White for very pale skin.

Rodan + Fields Unblemish Blotting Papers – For those times when your skin is acting up these papers with Zincidone will help to clear the situation up by not only soaking up oil but also reducing the growth of acne-causing bacteria. Perfect!

Moving In With Keri

I hope Keri Russell won’t mind moving out of this fantastic brownstone so that I can move in.  I’ve been thinking about it for weeks, it is one of the few spaces I see that I love without wanting to change a single thing, there is definitely no “I love it but…” about this home. And come to think of it, Keri needn’t move out at all, I’ve always been convinced that if we only had a chance to meet we would be fast friends, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way.

Keri and her talented husband (he gutted and remodeled from top to bottom while she chose the decor)  managed to create the perfect balance of modern and old, minimalist and warm, which is no small feat. I adore the abundance of light and open space, I always feel like I can breathe easier and think a little clearer in a space like this.

There are so many unexpected (and downright luxurious!) touches throughout, like the open master bedroom with its deep soaking tub and velvet chair, or the gorgeous chandeliers in nearly every room. It is so lovely to see that a modern home can still be comfortable and even glamorous. I mean, what could be more fabulous than a long bubble bath with a fire roaring in the nearby fireplace, could you imagine?

Kimono Cool

If the forecast for the next three days is accurate I would like to a) switch places with a heat lover in a cold area (takers? anyone?) and b) spend the rest of the week in nothing but these kimono rompers and dresses. Something billowy and barely there sounds just perfect right now and they are certainly gorgeous. My only concern is that in real life it might come off as a little bit “walking around the neighborhood in pajamas”. Thoughts?
