Oscar Countdown: Gorgeous Gowns

In my Oscar daydreams I would be preparing for Sunday by writing and re-writing my acceptance speech, practicing how to arrange my disappointed face into a more gracious expression just in case (don’t you hate how the camera immediately focuses on the person who didn’t win, so awful), and getting fitted into one of these four Elie Saab Spring 2011 gowns! No doubt driving my stylist insane with my inability to decide between them*. Which one would you choose? Or perhaps you have your eye on another fantastic gown? Do tell, the sky is the limit, after all we are only dreaming!

*actually perhaps it is better to host the awards instead of being nominated, that way you can change as many times as you come on and off stage and wear all the glorious gowns your heart desires!

Peachy Keen

It started with a gasp and a sigh over that fantastic pleated peach Chloe dress, and spiraled into a full fledged peach craving! I can’t wait to sit outside eating a sweet ripe peach (the kind that is so delicious, but so embarrassing to eat because the juice drips everywhere), but for now I think I would happily settle for one of these peachy treats. My cheeks could definitely use a bit of Benefit’s Georgia powder to wake them from their pale winter slumber!

Oscar Countdown: Magnificent Jewels

Catching a glimpse of fabulous, blindingly sparkly jewels is possibly my favorite part of watching the Academy Awards (especially during the red carpet arrivals)! I can hardly wait to see what our favorite leading ladies will be wearing on their wrists and fingers, so while we wait I thought we would do a little dreaming. Tell me, which glorious piece would you pick for your red carpet moment? I am feeling particularly drawn to the Harry Winston feather bracelet (No. 9, 240 fantastic diamonds, could you even imagine?), but honestly, I am pretty certain any one of these treasures would make me faint with joy!

1. Tiffany and Co. Rubellite Bow Pendant 2. Harry Winston Lavender Spinel Ring, 3. Harry Winston Brown Kite Diamond Necklace, 4. Irene Neuwirth Carnelian and Diamond Earrings, 5. Harry Winston Turquoise Swirls, 6. Jean Schlumberger Leaf Ring, 7. Cathy Waterman Russian Diamond Ring, 8. Jean Schlumberger Sapphire, Peridot, and Diamond Brooch , 9. Harry Winston Feather Bracelet, 10. Tiffany and Co. Yellow Diamond Ring, 11. Jean Schlumberger Five Leaves Earrings

Pastel Kate

Kate Bosworth looks absolutely refreshing in these gorgeous photos for Lucky. I am craving pale, clean colors for spring and these grayish blues and greens give me that perfectly serene feeling that the season of renewal calls for!

Cafe Days

We’re in our second day of lovely sunshine and even though I know it won’t last, there is still more ice and cold to wade through before spring, I am dreaming of days spent with coffee and a book at cute outdoor cafes.  A latte really does taste better outside in the breeze, don’t you think?

P.S. How gorgeous is this girl with her cute striped headband? I think she might be my inspiration for a spring uniform.
