Today is a very sleepy day (the second helping of turkey and sides we had for lunch did not help at all), but there is still a buzz in the air as the holiday season officially begins! Holiday decor seems to have sprung up overnight at my in-laws home, almost as if little elves were hard at work all night long (no one will fess up to it, but I suspect it was my crafty sister-in-law), and we’ve already broken into the Christmas movies box. What are you up to this weekend dear friends? Was anyone brave enough to shop the Black Friday sales?
P.S. One of these years I must get to work and make this light bulb wreath, wouldn’t you love to be greeted by its bright colors on your way home during the holidays?

That wreath-I just love it! I admit to being a scaredy cat when it comes to Black Friday shopping (why risk physical injury or possible death for a discounted iPod?) but I did snag a damn good deal on a last holiday gift for John this morning!
Hopefully doing lots of Christmas shopping, and maybe a little shopping for me at craft/designers open studio. It’s part of my Christmas shopping ritual and I’m hoping for mulled wine to complete the festive spirit.
I’m more of a Cyber Monday girl than Black Friday shopper. And I’m giving myself a full day off today before officially declaring it the start of my holiday season. I need the time just to recover from the combination jet lag + lack of sleep + two Thanksgiving dinners.
No Black Friday here. I prefer to cyber-shop in pajamas. But, we did venture out to see the Christmas lights go on at the capitol tonight. Now it feels like the real deal!
I’m a little bit envious that the States has ‘start date’ for the holiday season; as far as I know, Australia doesn’t. All of a suddent, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, so it’s Christmas next week’ kind of thing.
Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving! (I love love love the sneaky decoration elf, maybe I’ll do that this year … ) Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Just doing some Christmas gift shopping and taking it easy
Hugs,
Signe
I’m just about to start decorating! Yay! Time for the carols…this year I’m very happy to be listening to Pink Martini’s new holiday album.

Such a cheerful shot. Black Friday is not my kind of shopping – I need a much more civilized atmosphere. If it’s not enjoyable and fun then what’s the point!! I have, however, been doing some online browsing and am planning on starting a bit exterior decorating tomorrow! Hope you had a great holiday.
Black Friday is too much for me! We did run out for one thing at a big box store and, thankfully, it was not busy! Hard to believe.
Love that wreath!
LOVE the wreath! Through all my moves I had never really acquired any Christmas decorations and think I need to finally buy some for our little home.
Please do make that wreath, it’s so cute! Hooray for the holidays! We still don’t have our tree but I suspect it will be up and running by December 1st! We just hung up lights in our windows and it’s getting more and more festive by the minute.
