Beacon Hill Holiday

At the top of my list of fantasy places to live is a townhouse in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. These images of designer Gregory Van Boven’s impeccably decorated townhouse remind me that it is almost time to take a stroll downtown and do some daydreaming (just waiting for that first snow). I do hope my future house has a fantastic reading nook like that. Sitting in that window with a cup of tea, a copy of Charles Dickens’ Christmas Books, and the glorious view of Boston covered in snow and twinkle lights is the definition of a perfect holiday. For now, I am busy decking our current halls in as much Christmas glitter as they will hold. Is anyone else knee deep in ornaments and garland today?

Brocade Beauty

So in love with this gorgeous girl’s brocade coat, photographed on the streets of Paris.  The pink and gold combination is so lovely, she is just the picture of femininity, especially with that fantastic bow belt! Wouldn’t this make an amazing dress coat for holiday parties? I am thinking it would be perfect worn to the ballet, it is Nutcracker season after all. Do you have any theatre plans this season?

Tie One On

An adorable illustrated guide to tying a bow tie not only helpful for the party filled holiday season (out of practice hands can make for some very frustrated men, and very sad looking bows) but also lovely enough to frame in a gentleman’s dressing area, don’t you agree? Whatever you do, just say no to the pre-tied bow!

Blue Christmas

Oh Tiffany & Co., I would really love to live inside your new ad campaign (and your stores for that matter)! These images have me anxiously awaiting that first snowfall, and perhaps great things in tiny packages. Santa, are you out there?

Peonies

I have been quite literally dreaming of peonies, my favorite flower, and seeing bunches of them at Trader Joe’s and other grocery stores this past weekend.  I didn’t buy any since we were traveling, so cross your fingers for me that there are still at least a few handfuls left at my local store this evening! I’m hoping to have some in every room, and am really liking the idea of spreading them out in bud vases like this. Charming, no?
