Boardwalk Empire

Friends, have you all heard about the new HBO series, Boardwalk Empire? Set during Prohibition it promises to replace the Sopranos in the mob drama genre, but more importantly it is sure to provide us all with fabulous fashion eye candy every week. As a huge fan of the Art Deco era I’m really hoping that Boardwalk Empire will do for 1920′s fashion what Mad Men did for mid-century chic.  Just looking at this photo shoot from Vanity Fair has me itching to bob my hair and wear red lipstick every day. Dare I dream that this time next year we might start seeing flapper dresses, little hats, and mile long strings of pearls popping up in stores?

ooh I’ve missed some great posts whilst I’ve been away…. Yes I have heard of BoardWalk – the fashion does look amazing. One to watch after MadMen has finished – although we’ll be going back in time!

I love every single one of those images! We don’t have HBO, but my hub and I are itching to watch Boardwalk Empire. I have to confess that the biggest draw for me was that Omar from The Wire is included in the cast. We’ll just have to rent the season after it’s over!

When I was acting in NYC last year this show was all the buzz and everyone wanted to work on it. I’ve heard only amazing things about it and the cast is suppose to be phenomenal. I definitely think flappers will be the next big trend. I love the hairstyles and make-up!

I’m not going to lie, I hope it catches on like Mad Men did fashion-wise. I love this look. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been a flapper girl for Halloween in my life!
