At the suggestion of a couple of friends (and, ahem, my husband) we are moving the weekly cocktail feature to Thursdays, to give everyone a chance to scour for ingredients before the weekend. After all, no one wants to battle Friday rush hour traffic in search of Creme de Violette. Or so I am told.
This week we are celebrating fall with the Applejack Rabbit. Featured in the December 1965 issue of Gourmet its mixture of apple brandy and maple syrup is sure to taste like autumn in a cocktail glass!
Applejack Rabbit
2 oz. apple brandy
Juice of one half lemon
1 tbsp. maple syrup
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker half filled with cracked ice. Shake vigorously. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass.
Enjoy!

I have such a crush on this lovely little Brooklyn apartment of fashion writer Lauren McGrath! It would be a bit too small for my little family of 2+terrier, but I adore it nonetheless. It has a very pulled together but not matchy-matchy quality that I always find very charming. It is exactly the type of feeling I’d like to create in our little home. For a start I must get my hands on a couple of those adorable aqua side tables, they are precisely what our living room has been lacking. And of course I am in love with that little striped sofa! How about you, any favorites?

Haircut today, which means I pretty much have to sit on my hands all day to prevent myself from compiling 500 photos of Zooey Deschanel to take to my stylist. But as you can tell I have done some browsing and had to share these two with you because they are just too cute. Will I be sporting blunt bangs by this evening? Maybe. Do I believe that getting the perfect haircut will magically transform me into Zooey? A tiny bit. Don’t we all believe it a little?

It is a good thing these chandeliers by Marie Christophe are very pricey (veeeeeeery pricey) or I’m afraid my husband would come home to find one of them hanging in our living room. I don’t know what it is, I don’t usually covet uber-girly decor, but something about these speaks to me. Wouldn’t they be glorious in a very large, very feminine dressing room? And wouldn’t it be glorious to have a dressing room?

So excited for Warby Parker’s new limited edition pink Japhy glasses! Aren’t they gorgeous? With each purchase of pink Japhy glasses $50 dollars will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Now that is a great reason to treat yourself to a new pair of adorable glasses for the fall!
And as a funny aside, pink glasses hold a special place in my heart. It was my search for pink frames in 2006 that started my blog reading (and much later also writing) addiction. A quick google search landed me on the pages of Whoorl (who has excellent taste in glasses and many other things!) and I’ve been hooked ever since. These Warby Parker Wears Pink beauties are the first pink frames I’ve liked in my four year search, they need to be mine!
