Books In a Vise

We are in need of a few sets of bookends and these happen to look really cool while also making me laugh so I am totally smitten! The screws and handles are fully functional, so you can really put the squeeze on your favorite volumes. Genius, yes?

Succulent Love

Everywhere I look there is a photo of a pretty little succulent and I’m starting to think it is a sign. Perhaps, after four plant deaths in the last month, it is time for me to admit that my mom has passed down her plant killing skills to me and give it one last shot with something a touch more hardy. It is my understanding that even I would have a shot at keeping a succulent alive, and these arrangements from Succulent Love are too adorable to pass up, don’t you think?

Pearly Strands

They’re colorful, beautiful, and leather. Could you have guessed?  I am intrigued. Handmade pearl-like baubles by Natalia Brilli. Fantastic take on the classic string of pearls, with lovely little bows to boot!

Savoury Cupcake

Wish I was having this amazing, delicious sounding Cheddar and Scallion Cupcake for breakfast today. Perhaps these will be a little project for this weekend.  From the fantastic Ming Makes Cupcakes.

Desk Set

I thought I had seen every Katharine Hepburn movie ever made but yesterday I saw one new to me, Desk Set (1957), and of course loved it! A classic Hepburn-Tracy romantic comedy with the added benefit of an interesting and timely plot about computers replacing human beings. I was tickled watching Katharine play a sort of human Google search and the fashion was fantastic in every single scene, highly recommended for lazy summer nights.
