Happy Friday!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! We are planning on many hours of cheering for USA in the Olympics, work on seeing all of the Oscar Best Picture nominees (5 movies and only 16 days to go!) and perhaps even some fresh air if the weather cooperates.

A few links to wrap up the week:

Will you be seeing this movie?  I think I’m way too chicken.

What do you think, sorry or sorry he got caught?

Are you watching this show? I’m obsessed!

This adorable pooch is having the best week ever!

If you’re feeling down, dance it off .

My fear of heights prevents me from hurtling down a mountain, but perhaps I can ski after all.

Oh Canada

In honor of the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games last Friday we had a little Canadian food feast (brought to us by Googling and the kind suggestions of Canadian friends).  The menu consisted of the Canadian Cocktail, Poutine, smoked beef sandwiches, beans on toast, and the afore-mentioned Nanaimo Bars. Dear Canadian friends, your food is delicious! It was a treat to sample such lovely dishes while we enjoyed the ceremonies, I’m already scheming a fun dinner for the closings.

Lovely Sunday

What is better than a Sunday morning greeted by a bouquet of flowers? A Valentine’s Day morning greeted by two bouquets of flowers, and delicious french toast (which I ate too quickly to snap a photo)!! Hope all of you had a relaxing weekend, and a sweet Valentine’s Day.

Olympic Art

How wonderful are these vintage Olympic posters?  If you are interested to see the whole collection of posters through the years visit the Olymperial.  All of them are gorgeous, and of course have the kind of retro flair that makes me want to frame them and put them up in every room of the house!  At least for the next couple of weeks.

Faster, Higher, Stronger……Sweeter

The opening ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics are tonight! I am very excited, the Olympics have always been a huge deal in my house growing up, and I can’t wait to see what the lovely Canadians have come up with for the flame lighting.  The drool-worthy confection above is Canada’s favorite dessert, the Nanaimo bar.  Take a look at the recipe here, they sound absolutely heavenly.  Make a batch and enjoy the festivities!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a very lovely Valentine’s Day!
